Latin name: Carcinops pumilio

Only for DRY Manure pits !

Hister beetles are used for long term dry poultry manure pits or any dry manure. Beetles are small 1.5 mm (1/16 in.), black, shiny and consume large numbers of house fly eggs and small houseflies. These beetles are insectary raised and free of salmonella. They can be gathered using Hister Houses for re-inoculation after a clean out.

SHIPPED: Adult beetles with vermiculite in a bottle.

OPTIMUM CONDITIONS: 24C ( 80F)

RELEASE RATE: inoculate with 10,000 Hister Beetles to establish a colony. Release beetles into manure that is at least 3 weeks old to insure sufficient food resources

SPECIAL NOTES: Beetles can be trapped using Hister Houses before clean out and reintroduced after
