Starlings are very aggressive and will drive native birds out of their territory, much to the dismay of local bird watchers, they are nest robbers, due to their bullying nature they will take any suitable site, evicting any previous owner. It destroys the eggs and young of many different bird species, in addition, it robs many birds of their native cavities. Starlings are also common carriers of bacteria, fungal agents and parasites such as encephalitis, ornithosis and histoplasmosis. They have also been implicated in the spread of livestock diseases such as hog cholera. This plans success rests on the premise that Starlings will enter the house to nest, fall through the trap door and into the holding box.
