Elm bark beetles are responsible for transmitting the deadly Dutch Elm Disease. This disease has ravaged the native North American Elm population. The damage caused by their tunnelling is not serious, but the adult beetles carry the Dutch Elm Disease fungi on their bodies and infect healthy trees when they bore into the bark. There may be 2 or more generations of beetles per year. Use these large, disposable weather resistant traps along with the highly effective set of lures (which combines pheromones with host attractants) to catch the adult beetles.
