Bats, Bluebirds & Tree Swallows are all insect eaters. Bats have been found as high as 2 miles by radar signals. Research has proven they are feeding on corn earworms etc. that do not overwinter but migrate - seemingly from Mexico and the Tropics, riding the mighty air currents until they reach us. At night, bats eat mosquitoes, moths, beetles, mayflies etc., and are known to consume up to 500 insects in a ½ hour. Bats should never be handled, but if necessary - wear gloves! Tree Swallows and Cliff Swallows are flying insect eaters of flies, mosquitoes, beetles, ants, wasps, grasshoppers & numerous other insects.
