Natural Insect Control and The Next Decade

Natural Insect Control (NIC), a division of Sanda Enterprises Limited is proud to be entering our 20th year of operation. We feel we are in an extremely positive position within the Biological control market, particularly with our newly isolated proprietary Canadian strains of Beneficial Nematodes we offered through Garden Centers for homeowners, and commercially.

Our staff keeps growing and we now have two full time Entomologist on staff , Stacey who looks after our greenhouse customers and Shahram who does our research, as well as production of NIC Canadian Beneficial Nematodes. Along with Susan our Operations Manager, Robin and Kim in customer service, Kim B in shipping and receiving and of course myself as CAO and garden center contact along with Dave my spouse heading up purchasing. All personnel participate in ongoing testing of new, potential products for efficacy.

We have made great in roads in the Garden Center industry and you can find many of our Organic and Natural products for sale throughout Ontario, along with areas in Quebec, Maritimes and the Prairie provinces. We are represented in the Garden Centre industry in Ontario by manufacturers, representatives as well as by direct contact.

We continue our strong alliance with our friends Applied BioNomics , Canada's largest and world renowned insectary located in Western Canada, along with other alliances with certain U.S. and European insectaries.

Natural Insect Control (NIC) in it's origins was a mail order business and since it's inception had operated from a 50, now 66 acre facility/private nature preserve. This location continues to house our executive offices. In July of 2001 we acquired our new facility in Stevensville at an extremely busy intersection where we have recently refurbished one outside building into a laboratory and insectary. We also have a small retail outlet at this facility. This is ideal for movement of larger transport access to our location.

As of spring 2008 we have been producing our own "Canadian Beneficial nematodes" - species isolated within Ontario. We are the ONLY producer of Canadian strains of nematodes and the ONLY producer in Canada of Beneficial nematodes. This gives NIC an exceptional product not only for the Garden Center/home owner but also for commercial fruit, vegetable, tree and field crops.

We continue to do research on Beneficial Nematodes and developing new Canadian raised biological. We will soon be releasing a parasitic wasp for mealybug control. We look forward to those astute tender fruit and Christmas tree industry aficionados scrutinizing closely our superlative nematodes and other biologicals. We are working closely with advisors concerning the new Cosmetic chemical bylaw being developed in Ontario. Since we have been providing non chemical controls for 20 years for pest insects our ongoing nematode research has been providing very positive results and presently supports our introduction of our proprietary strain of "Canadian, winter hardy, isolated nematodes". Two Special breeding facilities for rare, native predators are now completed. Excitement is building - two major successes in less than one year - wonderful!

We feel well qualified to comment on existing and emerging technologies. We are at the fore- front of this significant change. We are redoing our web site for our 2009 anniversary which will include much more educational information along with our secure on line store for easy access to our non toxic products.

As always, NIC endeavours to fit into God's intricate and wonderful plan. Teaching the truth about bio-diversity, how prey and predator relationships work, earth care, being "Earthwise" and how all these can bring a change to a poison - free thinking and "Make a Future Possible". We remain dedicated to promoting healthful, environment friendly products and ideas- recycling , reusing, selling recycled products whenever possible, and endeavouring to make a tiny footprint whenever possible.

We profess - maintain and continue to improve upon "first class" products, services and guarantees.
