NIC is very proud to be the ONLY Canadian company to produce Beneficial Nematodes and the ONLY Company to offer Organic Canadian Strains of Beneficial Nematodes. We have been researching nematodes for over 10 years and have a dedicated Entomologist that produces and researches our nematodes. We now offer: Lawn Guardian for white grubs, Guardian for craneflies, Veggie Guard for gardens, NoGnat for fungus gnats, MinerGuard for Birch Leaf Miner, SodGuard for sod webworm, and Stop Flea for fleas. All our specific Canadian strain mixes to ensure the best control possible. Our nematodes are 100% guaranteed - always FRESH and keyed to Canadian Pests. Our nematodes are not only used for Homeowners, but also for Garden Centers, Farmers, Lawn Care industry and Commercial growers of vegetables, fruits, trees and field crops.
In 2010 we expanded our laboratory facility to fulfill the demand for our exemplary Canadian Beneficial Nematodes.
Our number of qualified "in house personnel" includes Dave CEO and Head of Purchasing and myself (Sandy) CAO and Office Manager. Two full time Entomologists, Bookkeeper/ Customer Service, Marketing Manager/CRS, and 3 Laboratory Assistants.
We are a master Distributor for Applied BioNomics from British Columbia, Canada's largest and world renowned insectary offering Canadian Beneficial Insects. To complete our list of biologicals the largest in Canada we also offer biologicals from the USA and Europe. We have a unique approach to Greenhouse biological control called "Prevention". Our dedicated entomologist, who is our Bug Lady, looks after all our Greenhouse, Lawn Care and Farm customers. She is a wealth of information and offers free technical support when needed.
We remain in an extremely positive position in the Garden Center industry where you will find many of our Organic, Natural products for gardens, homes and farms throughout Canada. In Ontario we are represented in the Garden Centre industry by GardenLink - manufacturer's representatives.
This year we launched a Distributors list on our web site. Our Web site offers a complete range from Nematodes, Beneficial Insects, Traps, Lures, Natural and Organic Soil Nutrients, Books, Bird Feeders and Houses - (Birds eat bugs and we promote them), all the "EarthWise" products we offer including lots of added information.
We have added some new exciting additions to our web site! Ever changing current information on our home page, interactive "Ask The Bug" and "What's Happening Now" - check them out for current information.
This year we are excited and proud to have joined the University of Guelph and Vineland Station in research trials with our Canadian Beneficial Nematodes and Beneficial Insects. We also have private research trials ongoing to control: Black Vine Weevil, Strawberry Root Weevil, Blueberry Maggots, Onion Maggots and Craneflies. All this with NIC's Canadian Beneficial Nematodes here in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, and British Columbia.
We are excited to be introducing a new branding "EarthWise" this fall. This branding will start appearing on all NIC exclusive products in 2011.
